Prospect Podiatry is one of the longest-established podiatry practices in Australia. Our proud history began in the 1950s with Dr John Pickering OAM (1932 – 2019). He was a pharmacist, podiatrist, podiatric surgeon, and lecturer in Podiatry for 32 years. As the founding father of podiatric surgery in Australia, his contribution to foot care in our country cannot be underestimated.

Andrew van Essen continued John’s legacy as a podiatrist and podiatric surgeon, having also been President of the Australian Podiatry Council, inaugural Chairman of the Australian Podiatry Education and Research Foundation, and lecturer in podiatry at the University of South Australia since 1993.
